1. General provisions
These rules govern the procedure for anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) checks at the CityKripto exchange service. By creating an exchange order, you confirm your agreement with these rules.
The exchange service has the right to suspend the processing of an order to carry out a check if the transaction risk level exceeds the permissible value (over 30%) or the source of funds falls into high-risk categories: sanctions lists, mixers, darknet marketplaces, or funds associated with law enforcement measures.
2. Grounds for verification
Grounds for requesting identity verification and confirmation of the source of funds are the results of automated and manual transaction risk assessment, as well as data received from partner blockchain monitoring services. A check may be initiated either before or after the funds are credited.
3. Requested information
In case of fund freezing, to confirm their lawful origin the client must provide:
- the name of the platform or service through which the funds were received;
- information about the service or goods for which the funds were received;
- a photo of one identity document (passport, ID card, driver’s license);
- a selfie with this document and a sheet of paper showing the current date.
4. Verification time and return of funds
Upon successful verification and the absence of signs of unlawful activity, funds are returned to the client in full within 14 calendar days. This period may be extended if additional requests are required by the service or authorized bodies.
5. Sanctioned and high-risk addresses
The exchange service does not service addresses associated with sanctioned jurisdictions and services (including Garantex, Tornado Cash). Funds received from such addresses are frozen indefinitely until the investigation is concluded and are not subject to return.
6. Disclaimer
The exchange is completed provided that no special instructions regarding the withheld funds have been received from law enforcement agencies. Upon receipt of such an order, the exchange service acts in accordance with the requirements of the law and the instructions of authorized bodies.
